Music Ministry

Webster UCC is home to a vibrant music program. Presenting an eclectic array
of music, worship is enhanced and enlivened through performances by the choir, as well as staff and guest musicians, and musical members of the congregation. Our hope is to create and present a steady flow of music that is inspiring, engaging, diverse and inclusive.

Webster offers congregants the opportunity to get involved musically and
spiritually by participating in the Chancel Choir, which meets weekly during the regular school calendar year.

In keeping with Webster’s involvement in outreach activities that create
partnerships with local and far-flung communities alike, the music program draws on the talents of local musicians, regularly inviting them to play for worship services.
Additionally, in 2018, Webster launched a concert series consisting of 3-4 performances per year by a variety of local and national artists. These concerts have ranged from folk music to jazz to storytelling.

A letter of welcome from our new Music Director!

Hello, Webster Church,

I look forward to continuing my life in music when I join you in January as Director of Music. Charity asked me to share a bit about my life, so here are a few blessings I have experienced along the way:  They include directing Adult and Children’s Choirs in several small churches in the area.  I co-founded the Ann Arbor Civic Chorus and Saline Flute Ensemble and both of these groups continue to provide joy for all who participate.  As an avid reader, I usually have at least 2 books going and am always happy to ‘talk books’.  Currently, I’m anxious to get back to singing with the Washtenaw Chorale when we are able to begin again.  Kim Pennington and I will certainly make sure you are all invited to our concerts!

The greatest blessings in my life are that my daughter, son and their delightful families live in Dexter and Saline.  My 4 Grandigirls (13,10, 9 ½, and 7 ½ ) love being a Cousin Crew and are my deepest joy.

I look forward to getting to know all of you as I become part of your vibrant congregation. Together, we will make more music together for the Glory of God!

Sincerely,

Rebecca
